A Hall switch is a magnetic sensing switch that changes its output state upon detecting a magnetic field. Unipolar types respond only to one specific magnetic pole, while bipolar and latch types require alternating north and south poles to toggle the output. Omnipolar types, on the other hand, can respond to either magnetic pole, regardless of polarity direction.
They can convert continuous changes in magnetic field strength into corresponding linear voltage outputs, responding to both positive and negative magnetic fields. Programmable linear circuits offer customized solutions for various complex applications. Hall elements made of indium antimonide (InSb) and gallium arsenide (GaAs) can directly detect magnetic field variations and generate corresponding voltage changes.
